*Excellent* tip for maintaining a healthy diet

Was reading this article – webmd.com: Lose Weight Fast: How to Do It Safely and there’s one thing in Ms. Zelman’s list of tips which was just like “Bang! Yes! Right on!”. Here is the tip:

Get tempting foods out of your home.

That is completely on advice. Yes. Get tempting foods out of your home. No amount of tempting foods is good, ever. That really is one of the key pieces of advice for maintaining the strict dietary discipline needed to resist the horrendous mainstream diet which is so destructive and so insidious.

In practical terms what this means is: Cut out all sugars for good. Forever. Cut out all those refined carbs forever. All those snack products. Everything on this list. The key to success – and to making it easy – is to eliminate bad things, not reduce them. You have to take the approach that bad things are eliminated and simply no longer present in the options for what you consider nourishment for your body.

And yes, to addicted people this seems really hard. But to people who do it, it is in fact simple and easy. The bottom line is that by keeping such foods in your home, by eating them even only infrequently, you are unnecessarily torturing yourself and making your life more difficult than it needs to be.

One of the great tradeoffs of maintaining a disciplined diet is that, for the things you do eat, you will love them all the more and really savor their nourishing, wholesome qualities.
