The city is so rancid…

… so utterly rancid. I would love to ride a bicycle. I love bicycling. But, overriding that, I refuse to expose myself to harm. Being on a bicycle on a street in the city means being exposed to a range of very harmful things. Have you ever been on your bicycle when a deafeningly loud motor vehicle went by, blasting your ears so badly that they felt numb afterwards? Many of these vehicles are so deafeningly loud that they hurt your ears inside your car with the windows rolled up, much less being on the open street exposed to it.

Have you ever had drivers get pissed at you when you were bicycling along 100% legally, simply because they felt that you did not have a right to be there? Do you know what its like to be bicycling along like that end then suddenly have a deafeningly loud horn blasting at you from behind?

Have you ever had them deliberately try to sideswipe into you, or yell abusive things at you?

What about having a large truck pass you and then, as its cab got in front of you but the body was still next to you, the stupid driver starts to shift over into your lane, almost pinning you against parked vehicles to your right and killing you? I read about this killings from time to time and know what they are like firsthand yet of course law enforcement does not properly investigate or file charges for manslaughter.

And then, on top of it all, it is impossible to go outside on a bicycle without basically destroying your hair, skin, and lungs from the pollution.

Yes, you can take a shower afterwards and rinse it out of your hair and off your skin, but you cannot rinse it out of your lungs.

Please tell me what sort of human rights the politician weasels are talking about? What sort of sanctuary are they creating? Its certainly not a sanctuary for life. It must be a sanctuary for hypocrisy, lies, and violence.

They spend millions improving bicycle lanes, but its like inviting people to damage themselves, to willingly subject themselves to abuse, harm, and death. Their only motivation appears to be able to make the claim that the city is bicycle friendly, thereby upping real estate values.

Even in my apartment, which is way too expensive, there is abuse from the boom cars, the advertising aircraft towing banners at ridiculously low altitudes emitting noise as loud as a motorcycle, over and over and over again, destroying my ability to have peace, to concentrate, to play violin or piano or even just think or relax. Then there are the leaf blowers, basically five days per week, sometimes multiple times per day, and the city government which has completely blown me off when I tried to contact them about the problem. They don’t care. And I think not of myself even as much as I do the poor birds and other wildlife that have to be exposed to that.

What is the point to any of this? And where are the ones who should be speaking out and standing up in support of life, in support of health and well-being? What about the physicians and doctors who study the human mind and body? What about people like those from the yoga institutions who claim to be so concerned about promoting health but then, when it gets outside of their private studios, it seems to not matter? What happened to the idea of the community? The community here is appallingly sick. This is not a community. It is more like an agglomeration of rotting minds and bodies.

As much as I am capable of and eager to ride a bicycle and exert my energy to do what is right, there is no way that I’m going to go out onto the sick streets where idiots in their outrageously loud motor vehicles are roaming around. The streets are disgusting, they are places of death and decay.

I guess the window has closed. There was that little, brief period which has just recently passed in which I endured the final part of this sickness and went out freely on my bicycle, rode to the ocean and took off my clothes and ran and danced naked along the shore with the waves coming up against my feet and the golden rays of the Sun enveloping me.

That is the world I am from but that is not the world that is going to be here because people are choosing illness, they are choosing greed, selfishness, and hypocrisy. I wash my hands of it. I have nothing to do with it. They want to destroy this city, destroy these communities, destroy this country and this planet. That is their prerogative.

I wash my hands from it.

It really makes me wonder. Because people claim to want paradise. This place is supposed to be some kind of paradise. Isn’t it?

Yet if people want to enjoy the outdoors and have fun, then they hop on a plane and fly to some islands, or else they drive hundreds of miles to reach some forest. Yet that place was supposed to be here. Here was supposed to be paradise. Now it is only a paradise of stupidity.
