Homemade seasalt enema

Yesterday a $10 enema bulb I ordered online arrived in the mail. Looking online, a lot of the enema kits that are sold look like IV bags which hang on a wall and have a tube that you’re supposed to stick inside you. I don’t understand this design. First of all that would be way too much fluid to be putting inside. And it just seems so messy.

Then a lot of the other kits that are sold are marketed for sex. I find this strange actually. There’s not really anything sexual about an enema. Its a a health activity. Yes, if one wanted to have anal intercourse it would be important to be clean, but I don’t understand how the act of cleaning itself can be regarded as sexual but that is what they are marketed as.

Anyhow I found just a regular rubber bulb with a detachable tube. It looks almost exactly like an earwash bulb I got one time that came with an earwax removal kit, only bigger.

I didn’t like the strong chemical-rubbery smell it had so I soaked it overnight immersed in detergent water. Then today I put about 1/2 tbsp of Real salt in a half-filled jar of water and mixes it in. I had a funnel which fit into the opening of the bulb but still water leaked because there has to be some air outflow in order for the water to go in. I had to partially squeeze the bulb in order to suck in the water. So one major flaw is that its not easy to get the water solution into the bulb.

I then used the bulb. Another major problem with it is that it does not have a valve. When you are ready to insert it you have to be very careful because the water will just drip out of it.

It was also not easy to squeeze the bulb to really get all the water out. Not like the disposable enemas from the store which are very easy to squeeze and decant the full amount of liquid in.

Another major flaw with this bulb enema is once again the lack of a valve. One has to be careful when squeezing the water out that one does not loosen one’s grip because if the bulb inflates it will actually suck water from inside you back into the bulb. That’s kind of yucky.

Basically at this point I’m kind of sad that no one seems to make a good home enema kit. To me an enema is one of the most basic hygenic practices any human being can undertake and should undertake as its really healthy.

Anyhow, I did get the seasalt water inside me. It was a much gentler enema that the sodium phosphate store bought ones. I did not feel a strong urge to evacuate as with the store bought sodium phosphate ones. I did use what I thought was a fairly high amount of salt in the mixture because that should cause water to draw into the colon and increase the need to evacuate. But it seems to not have worked that well.

But it did work and I actually liked having a more mild, gentle enema for a change since the sodium phosphate ones are kind of intense.

I may try epsom salt for the next one. I forgot to mention that I just used the reverse-osmosis filtered water which I get for $0.45/gallon at the health food store. Its good enough for drinking so it of course should be good for the other end.

People may think I’m crazy for writing publicly about enemas but I seriously believe they are really healthy. I’ve seen some sites which make them seem terrible and they say that it changes the way the bowel functions and that the bowel has to “retrain” after using enemas for a long time. Bullshit. Complete bullshit. Using enemas even multiple times per day does not cause any negative change to the bowel nor have any adverse effects. If you stop using them of course you can still go normally.

But of course if you are used to using them you may enjoy the fact that your colon is more clean and have to get used to the fact that it might not be as clean as before.

I’m now wondering if it would be possible to get an extra-large syringe which might have an attachment?
