Herbal medicine works in 16th-century Japan

The plot of this story (so far): a young heir to a clan which serves a lord in a province in Western Japan in the mid-to-late 16th century is adventurous and outgoing. One day, his guardian – a trusted vassal of his father – confines him to a small shed to force him to study. With his cunning he escapes from the shed and runs off to the herbal eye medicine factory run by his grandfather, the retired lord of the clan.

In this scene the young heir is with his grandfather and the scenery of the herbal works is stunning.

Unfortunately the subtitles don’t get captured when doing a video clip (wtf VLC?!?) but you don’t really need to understand the words to take in the magic of the scenery.

Gunshi Kanbee ep01 22’30”

(just watched the clip and it looks like yet another botched clip from VLC – vocals way out of sync – sorry. one would think that in this day and age doing this sort of thing would be simply and easy.)
