Not long ago Chanel came out with their new Les Beiges fluid makeup. It says on the tube “All-in-one healthy glow fluid”.
I found that it does not work as a standalone foundation, or as something like a tinted moisturizer or BB cream that would be used on its own after serums. It definitely does glow on the skin. But when I tried to use it as a standalone foundation it was just way too glowy. Being an active person does not help: After a long (but not particularly arduous) bicycle ride my skin basically looked pretty horrible. It was very greasy.
However, I’ve used Les Beiges Fluid as a highlighter only and it works well. I would not use it on any other areas of the face other than highlighting the upper cheekbone area with it.
Because I’m not really into the idea of applying one product, then needing to fix it with another product, I would not use Les Beiges overall and then put a powder over it.
I still really like Perfection Lumiere as the number one, go-to foundation product. One thing I like about it is that it blends so perfectly well with my natural complexion that I can only use it on certain areas on my skin to even out my complexion, and it will still look totally natural. Chanel also make it in a lot of shades which means they’re serious about it.
Sometimes I wish the coverage were just a little bit stronger than it is. For problem areas it can take a considerable amount of building-up to achieve a desirable level of coverage.
Finally, Chanel’s Correcteur Perfection (in 31 Beige Rose) is by far my favorite concealer. Lately I’ve been using it with Bobbi Brown corrector in light peach. I gently tap some of the Bobbi Brown corrector over the darkest areas around the lower inner corners of my eyes to neutralize the darkest areas, then apply the Correcteur Perfection over that and blend it all the way under my eyes with my fingers.
