I would like to mention this amazing product which is working wonders for my curly hair. My hair is curly but tends to dry out and frizz easily. I also color-treat my hair with Satin permanent hair color, which uses an ammonia-based developer. It is actually a pretty gentle hair color and the fact that it is permanent is great. For example I can condition the heck out of my hair immediately after color treatments and not worry about color fading. Once this color is in hair it stays in.

I think my hair is still recovering from an incident many months ago in which I temporarily switched to a peroxide-based developer which ended up being disastrous. I highly recommend to never ever use peroxide in hair. Ever.

The upshot of the damage from the peroxide is that the follicle is damaged and, while it is possible to hyper-condition hair so that it kind of seems normal for a while, eventually because the follicle is too damaged it simply can’t retain moisture, hence the progressive frizz. And its not just frizz, also the hair became very catchy and would tangle easily.

I changed my hair style to a shorter style which in fact I am really liking and have received compliments on. A lot of the damaged hair has now been trimmed off. But there has still been a lingering issue with the ends frizzing out.

Then I went to my hair product shelf and tried a leave-in conditioning mist by Alba and – wow – I really love it. It moisturizes the hair intensely in a way that doesn’t make it greasy or destroy curls. In fact it enhances curls. After applying it I scrunch the hair to enhance the curls. It has a great hold that is not too stiff but not too little either.
