There should be a tax on being lazy
I can’t believe how many lazy fucks there are. I bicycle almost every day in and out of the city center doing things, shopping, or just out to be out. There’s one slope between where I live and the city center. Its not that difficult to go up. People should be taxed for being lazy…

Cucumbers!
Today I got the first pickling cucumbers of the season at the farmers market. Contrary to what a guy told me last week, tomatoes have not appeared yet. A more reliable source I spoke with today told me that we have about a month to go before tomatoes and peppers. But cucumbers are here and…

Apricots are here!
Last weekend at the farmers market I saw the very first apricots of the season here in Northern California. Apricots are the second fruit of the Prunus genus – also called tree fruits – to arrive every season. Cherries are the first. The first apricots I had were small in size and very, very delicious!

Amazingly intense berries
At the natural foods store today I was looking at some new things. A while ago I remember having this upscale granola I wanted to try and it had these interesting dried berries in it. I don’t believe in granola and never had that one again but it made me curious about various uncommon dried…

A way to zest up quinoa
Because of quinoa’s unique characteristics and flavor it can be challenging to find suitable seasonings when preparing dishes with it. The most basic dish is just a bowl of quinoa, optionally with vegetables, seeds or nuts, or other items mixed in. With rice one can use soy sauce or a host of other seasonings. But…

One Whiff Rule
I’d like to make a tv commercial. Some people are standing in line for something. It could be a couple friends in line at a restaurant, or some event, or whatever. Its a line outside the entrance and there are people there queued to get in. And the camera focuses on one of the friends…
